High Performace Tennis and Academics
The GSM Academy Program is geared towards players who are committed to an intensive training schedule in an effort to maximize their potential both on and off the court.
Players have a Coach and an Educational Counselor (through our partner school) assigned to them that are going to monitor and advise each student on both their tennis performance as well as academics.
Students typically enroll in the GSM Academy Program on an annual basis and have an academic schedule that is custom tailored to suit the players individual needs without compromising studies.
Access to the program is limited and only granted after an initial evaluation and on court assessment is completed by the High Performance Director, as well as successful application to one of our educational partners. Coaching staff will determine the individual direction of each student and implement a detailed developmental plan and a tournament schedule. Short and long-term strategy is discussed in order to achieve each student’s goals. Representatives from each department, tennis and academics, observe and evaluate progress and make sure individual needs are being met. Parents will receive regular progress reports from their respective Coach-Mentor.
What you need to know about our academy school program
We are experts in developing student athletes.
Our academic partner schools understand the challenges involved in managing a demanding schedule of sports and study and knows how challenging this can be when you are far from home competing. They are leaders in private education with committed staff that are available and committed to support students to balance all aspects of their educational and athletic goals to achieve their highest potential.
Class sizes at our partner schools are small to maximize classroom time and to tailor lessons to specific needs. Teachers get to know their students well and know how to motivate students to reach their highest potential in all subjects and allow them to train full time as well.
Our tennis training facility is located in the CORE lifestyle and Recreation Complex. The Core Lifestyle & Recreation Complex is more than a Soccer Field, Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Fitness Centre, Tennis Court, Meeting Room, and Banquet Hall. It is a world class facility that will inspire everyone from a young child being introduced to a sport for the very first time, to the high performance athlete whose passion for sport and a healthy lifestyle burns stronger than ever. Nestled in the woods directly adjacent to Highway 401 in the south end of Kitchener, the 65,000+ square foot year round facility is nothing less than world class.
